A part of Highway 40 in the West Island will be closing this weekend and that closure will last until December.
Highway 40 Eastbound will be closed between Morgan Boulevard in Baie-D’Urfé and Saint-Charles Boulevard in Kirkland.
The Highway 40 Westbound will also be affected as it will be reconfigured to accommodate two-way traffic. Motorists going Eastbound will be detoured to the other side of the highway.
The closure will begin at 8 a.m. on May 27.
During the closure the pavement on that portion of Highway 40 will be redone.
A portion of Highway 20 was closed over the May long weekend – causing hours of delays and missed flights for some trying to get to the airport.
Transport Quebec has said they will debrief that situation to see what they can do better for future closures.
However, they warn road work season has begun and motorists must plan their trip using Quebec 511 before leaving the house.
